I really can't understand why people are suggesting that abrasive discs are better than a toothed blade?
About the only drawback I can think of with a toothed blade is the cost.
Discs give a rougher cut, wear out, can be more easily damaged, can become contaminated, are a fire risk, are more prone to shattering, require frequent replacement....

Agreed.
A proper tungsten carbide blade will out perform an abrasive disk in every way.

An abrasive disc isn't going to go blunt like one with teeth. I don't think abrasive discs give a cut that is any rougher - the abrasive material effectively files through the steel rather than cutting it, then you simply remove the burr with a file as you would anyway.
