Church spotlight?

Hi all,

I have been asked to provide some sort of spot/beam light within a church, that will pick out a cross on the alter from about 15m away. (the effect they are looking is with church in darkness the cross would be illuminated on its own and standout.

any one know of a fitting that would do this, i`m thionking maybe it would have to be a theatrical spot light, any ideas greatly appreciated.

lol yes it is but, they do say that god moves in mysterious ways!! in this case through me!!

would a fresnel with barn doors do the job you would have a small amount of focus with the fresnel but would be a soft light (not like a harsh spot light) and the barn doors would control any spill

It depends how defined you need the light to be. You could use profile spots: SELECON ACCLAIM ZOOMSPOT | Follow & Profile Spots | Stage Lighting although you'd probably need separate control, dimmers etc and for 2 you're looking at around £700 just for the spots.

Alternatively you could use par36 pinspots which will create a small, bright pool of light from a distance and are a lot cheaper: METAL PIN SPOT BLACK | Par Cans | Stage Lighting
