Hi

For my college course 2330 I have to do a circuit drawing of the install that I did on my practical exam.
Is there any software available for this so that I can keep it very neat.
We have to use the BSEN symbols.

Thanks

Am I right in understanding that you want to draw circuits on your computer & print them using your computer's printer?

If so, AutoCAD is the industry standard CAD (Computer Aided Design) package which is used to design everything from housing estates through to power stations, airliners & space shuttles, but it's expensive - about £4k I think. I used it in a previous business I had, and found it had a lot of bells & whistles that I didn't need.

There are cheaper packages - such as TurboCAD for less than £100 - with fewer bells & whistles that will do what you want, and maybe even cheaper than that, but AutoCAD & TurboCAD are the only two that I have actually used.

There may be a "student verision" of AutoCAD available at a much reduced price to bona fide students which is fully functional, but will print the words: "NOT FOR COMMERCIAL USE" in red letters right across your prints, but this would be ok for a college course I think.

Hope this helps.

Edit: I just found this: http://students.autodesk.com/?nd=download_center

You'll find that Visio drawings are usually acceptable too.

You can usually get a 30 day trial of Visio from the Microsoft download area.

Getting software for the 2330 is a little ott don't you think. Unless you can get it free or on a trail basis.

I'd be voting for the good old fashioned coloured pens

yep, and don't forget the good old fashioned paper to write on. believe it or not, it's still obtainable from scattered stationery suppliers, it comes in handy packs, about the same size as BS7671, but without the funny printing all over it. if you google " stationery supplies" you might find one somewhere lurking in the high street, between mcdonalds and the halifax.

Yeah get the pens out.....

I was gonna use visio for my design project to get my part 2 - so many Problems trying to use it, that in the end i resorted to good old fashioned technical drawing pens.... i certainly wouldn´t bother using software for drawings on 2330 course..... too much hassle....! :)
