I'm thinking of getting myself one to join my arsenal of tools. I was getting sucked in by the festool 55 but its not cheap. Or possibly an 18v cordless Milwaukee to join my line up of that range. Do any of you have any thoughts on this?
Cheers
Dan

I have a Bosch 18v Li-ion circular saw, it's pretty good and I use it a lot for cutting aluminium cladding sheets and tread-plate on site. It's a bit heavy on batteries, we get around 10 or 12 full sheet-length cuts to a battery. It will do quite a bit more on 19mm plywood though. I've had my eye on a similar circular saw by Makita that will cut sheet steel, steel conduit and unistrut.

i would have a look to see if you can get the 36v one that takes two batteries

put 2 18v 5ah makita batteries in and it will last quite a while

i'm waiting for the brushless one now that will be a beast :D more power and more run times whats not to like, and i wouldn't go for festool not in our game think its for cab designers and fine crafts.

if its for uni strut go for a cordless bandsaw much better on the blades

recip saw chops through uni really quick, same as an angle grinder
