I am currently enrolled at Preston college since last September, studying C&G 2330 level 2.

As far as I am aware(no news from the college), C&G haven't made there minds up yet if they are going to continue our course onto level 3.

Does anybody have an insight or information they can share, to possibly ease my mind.

Regards

C&G are definitely continuing 2330 L3 for 2011/12. Not sure which colleges are offering the course.

It's a shame colleges don't actually know this informtion themselfs.

I was told by my tutor that they "could" be replacing the 2330 level 3 to an NVQ level 3 instead, however would need to be employed. It's all a little confusing at the moment.

I restart my level 2 course in September, this should be finished by February 2012. Obviously I need to be looking at getting sorted for my level 3, would this then start September 2012? Do I also need to find part time employment to work towards a portfolio?

its up to the colleges themselves to keep informed over these things. C&G extended the lifespan of the 2330 as it has been regarded by the powers that be that it is an excellent qualification (unlike its predecessor). We are taking on new enrolments for the 2330 for career changers and running the 2357 diploma for work based learners.

Thanks for the information, seems like your in the know.

Hope you can help me with the following.

2330 - Level 2 - Nearly complete
2330 - Level 3 - To be done next year.

What is next and what else did I need to do to be 100% qualified?

You are on the right track as you are.Being 100% qualified would depend on your intended end scope. If you are planning on obtaining a JIB card I believe an NVQ3 would be required for you to obtain the electrician grade. If testing and inspection is required (it should be and so almost always is) then there is the 2391-10 with or without the 2392-10 being done primarily. If you have not considered the 2382-10 then this would be an ideal course also. I've delivered it to guys before whilst doing their level 3 and they found it a great help with their 302 and 303 written exams. Employers also look for it as it is what makes you a '17th edition' electrician. Some people believe the 2382-10 isn't needed if you are currently being trained as your training is to the 17th edition, this isn't true however as the syllabus and purpose of the 2382-10 has nothing on comparison to the 2330.You might also be wanting to consider PV installation. The 2399 (C&G in Enviro technologies) is a relatively qualification which covers this and a few others..So you can see it all depends on your end intentions..... My apologies for the bad grammar..... This forum software now sucks when I use my iPad for some reason.
