Hi first post on here i need some advice please.. i have been in the industry for 25 years plus working for various contractors, experienced in every type of installs inc commercial industrial etc.
i went self employed 10 years ago and joined Niceic as a full scope domestic installer.
i have no formal qualifications except the 17th edition , i was looking at going on a course 2365 or the possibility of the Assessment route to NVQ3 standard with the Jib . just wondering if anyone has gone this route, the goal is to go approved contractor as iam getting more commercial and industrial work every year. spoke to Niceic and they said go on the test and inspection course 2391. not sure which route would be the best ,as a lot of contractors now want approved or if i want to go back working for employers again there asking for 2365
cheers Bob

I heard you could pay an assessor to e d all the pay work for you for the NVQ3 he just comes and watches you work make sure you doing it right take the pics and writes it up That cost was ÂŁ1000, this was a few years ago. ring local college they will help

The 2365 Level 2 and 3 make up the knowledge units of the NVQ. So when you do the NVQ, all you have to do is the practical units (photos for the portfolio etc). I think (dont quote me on this) you need some kind of level 3 to do the inspection and testing.
