When I'm putting my tax return in, do u know if I can put my recite in for my college course? As it is work related I suppose ??

anyone done this or know of anyone?

Every course I've ever done has been claimed for, whether you're allowed to or not I don't know but that'll only be an issue if you get investigated. If in doubt talk to an accountant mate, they've probably got a (not very exciting) forum

Best I get my receipts in then.never done a tax return see this will be my first.
Around what time do they let u know they owe you anything (if any)

A h that's faster than I thought. the jobs I've done have always been taxable (through agencies) so If it stays that way I just fill in the required and show all my receipts etc and I should get something back?

You don't need to show your receipts mate but you do need to keep all records. Any CIS vouchers need to be sent off to them with the return

Unfortunately, the cost of a college course or any other course to learn your trade is not tax deductable. The cost of training in order to continue your trade is.

For example, 2330 = not tax deductable, 2382 update = is tax deductable.

You need to be careful as HMRC can audit you at any time without notice so I wouldn't be writing off anything as a business expense when you're not entitled to.

Hope this helps :)
