Hi everyone just a quick question. Looking to purchase a clamp meter been having a look around and seen a Di log DL6402 for a decent price. Wondered if anyone has used one made by them and can advise if
they are any good? Thanks in advance!

Di log are OK, they tend to be cheaper than some others but still in the good quality range.
You might want to consider the DL6507 as this has sufficiently low resolution to be used as an earth leakage tester as well; if you do not need to measure currents over 100A.

Beware the open jaw type,in recent tests I conducted it was found that they give a reading which differs a good bit from the closed jaw type, the reading is also affected by the cables position within the jaw.

Thanks for the advice Phil I'm not looking to spend too much money on one if I can help it. Nearly all of the work I carry out is domestic and commercial and not sure if would be used too regularly hence why I want one that is half decent but not overly expensive.

Well if you haven't got a leakage clamp meter, you should definitely be investing in one. Most budget leakage meters go up to 100A which as an Amp meter, is all you really need for domestic and the smaller commercial installations!! An earth leakage clamp meter should be a must in every electricians test equipment these days, in fact i can't see how an electrician can get by without one when fault finding RCD/RCBO devices!!

ive had a Kewtech one from screwfixx for the last 4 years, cost about ÂŁ50. never let me down yet.

I got the kewtek kw200 from store today

ÂŁ43 and reads upto 400a and 600v

Im glad I finally picked one up. Had a fluke t90 and was rubbish

Broke when I was on the job over christmas, was belling swa's and all lights on and wouldnt reset.

(Same price on electrofix website)
