Evening,
I have a class 2 light for the bathroom, and it has its own L & N wires that go into connectors in a type of small chocbox, that go into the loft. Whats the best way/regulation to terminate the incoming earth?
Cheers

If it has no earth terminal, then i sleeve it about an inch longer than the conductor, bend it back on itself and put it in a bit of connector block, and poke it back up into the ceiling, but keep it accessible for future use/ testing etc.

Cheers.....Howard

The fitting actually has its own wires coming out of the top, a L & N that go into a small chocbloc type thing. No earth fitting in that though. So cant run the incoming cable into the fitting at all. So all the wires and in the loft.

Thanks for your reply. You are quite right, I’ve taken one down this morning and the cable is twin & earth but the earth has been cut right back...
