HI,
Now I got your attention
Sorry to disappoint, just wanted to say hello and intoduce myself.
I am 39 and looking for a career change, something I should have done years ago. I realised far too late what I really enjoyed and wanted to do with my life, still life in the old dog yet. I recently completed a VRQ level II domestic instaler scheme (2382, 2377 & EAL), lots of home learning and 4 weeks of college, not to mention a shed load of cash.
I got good marks in the exams but am not kidding myself this any way makes up for a proper time served apprenticeship, I envy you guys who knew what they wanted at the right age.
I will try to get work as a sparky's mate and will probably try and get accredited too to build experience whilst continuing in my present job, the advice on this site will surely help.
I will no doubt ask a few questions from time to time and hopefully chip in on a few threads, I must say that this forum seems to be very encouraging to people in my position.
Look forward to any replies.
Cheers,
Scott.
P.S. Just a thought but have you considered a mentor scheme where a qualified and experienced spark adopts someone in my position and we could ask questions without creating or duplicating loads of threads.I guess downside with that is you don't get the input of various peoples opinions/experience though.Probably a stupid idea the more I think about it !
