i went for the arrow one as it was easy to get the staples from the wholesalers for it rather than have to order online and wait for it coming through. most of them in leeds stock them. it`s not one of those investments that you regret buying if it goes a little birds name`s up i would replace it.

Ive got a brilliant one for phone/cctv cable that I, ahem, emancipated from it's previous cruel masters.... It's great but as I said I wouldnt use it on low voltage even on singles which it would fit, the insulation on the staples just isn't good enough These thugh, if it has the power of the one I have it would be well worth it. Not exactly what I was looking for to start with but still looking good.

lenny, liking the look of those non conductives, the price as well. Not sure how they would stand up to mortar, but theres only one way to find out....

EDIT: Just looked at the UTAC one more closely and it only does up to 1.5mm, whereas the arrow one only does 2.5 and 6mm. Hmm, could be a pain to get both. I wonder if the UTAC staples would fit my current stapler

Nah wasn't really after staples. I have a staple gun especially for telephone cable which uses 'insulated' U shape staples, and the so-called insulation is a bit of white paint. Not sure I'd be happy using them on low voltage.

... but thanks anyway, chaps.

Have a look at the Cablecraft website...find it on google....can get you a discount on there

and NO this is not Advertising I am helping out fellow sparks to get the right tools and to find them cheap...before anybody has a go at me again for suggesting shops/manufacturers that aint on the side bar...
