hi all, im currently carrying out F.E.T's to alot of bus stations around the country and today came across a right old rusty metal clad mem 4 way sinlge phase db. The location of the db is in a feeder pillar outside but sheltered from the weather. The db is rusty as its about 15-25 years old maybe damp got in over the years. No main switch in the db there is a seperate double pole 100 amp eaton isolator but the 16mm D/I tails have been badly joined and taped then pass though the db to the 100 amp isolator and back to feed the db.Would this warrant a replacement? As even when you isolate the board there are still 2x live conductors present(the feed passing through to main 100amp isolator) All four circuits passed all tests but upon visual inspection i fail it! Can i class it as a code 1 or 2 and replace?

sorry for going on and hopefully you understand my problem.
I know coding is down to the assesor but opinions from you guys would be useful. thanks in advance rergards Simon

thanks for the reply. I was thinking code 1 purely for the fact of live conductors in a supposedly dead board, but previous test 5 years ago never picked up on this, which made me think! thanks for you advice bugsy

I would say code 2 as well code 1 is like a exposed live cable or live metal work with no earth.
Code 2 has the potential of becomming dangerous caused by a faut.

Well im getting all the remedials from any code 1/code 2's found, so looks like a board change and some re-routing of cables me thinks. thanks for the input guys
