Code er31 with new indicator board on induction hob

Falcon (Rangemaster) continental induction range 10 yrs old. Tried swapping out control indicator unit pcb (shows the knob settings) with identical pcb to try to correct a control fault. Get er31 code which I think is a configuration issue. Only got knobs, no buttons. How to configure? No jumper on board. Tried correct pan on ring - no change.
Control issue is that the 2 LH rings often won't turn down power despite showing correct lower setting. Moving pan can trigger the lower setting to act. Thanks.

Wondering if this was ever solved. Same issue on Teka induction (all same components).
I saw posted elsewhere some JPGs that explained what to do, but the website could not find the JPGs.

Help. I have the same issue on my rangemaster cooker. Anyone able to shed light on the situation??
