Hello every one not been for a while so my apologies.

To my question I have rows of switch start fluro's all wired in T&E. The cable runs through the fitting bast the ballast with no heat protection, so am I right in saying it would be a code C3

Should be run under some heat shielding.
Have seen an IP64 fitting catch light because the cables were run above the ballast.

I would C3 it probably. Possibly C2 if it was badly discoloured and the cable was tightish against the choke. Hard to say without being there.

Is this an office? Are lights on for prolonged periods. I have one customer that insists on leaving a floro switched on 24/7. I check it every year as the internals all tend to go a bit brittle and knacked..
