Color of ground conductor

protable

[FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica][FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica]I was talking with several other electricians. The question came up about the grounding conductor to ground rods and the cold water pipe. My self and a older guy said it had to be Green or bare. The young guy said it could be insulated or Bare. Looking in the code he seems to be correct. Us older guys are sure it was in the code. Are we looking in the wrong place or is it a OLD SCHOOL thing????We felt this was for #4 or smaller. Larger size conductors could be marked with codeing tape or etc. Would appeciate some input.
