Hi Guy, I had a call yesterday to a shop being turned into a minimark, they wanted me to relocate the light switch which I did, but after looking at the rest of the property I noticed the ring main and the back of house lights was wired with 2mm bell cable! I told the owner it need to be rewired which he was hesitant but agreed to have done. This is his first shop and I just wanted to see what else is required in a shop? emergency lights, fire alarm, Electrical installation conditioning report etc. Many thanks.

Mick think you need to see someone, obviously bitter about people who do DIY? as 90% of your reply's state that. If you don't have anything positive to say don't say it. Also why would it be a wind up, this forum is for advice

Hi mate, I will message you all the details. Don't listen to these stupid comments from this sad ********. Obviously don't have anything better to do then put silly comments.

And you have nothing to do but breach the swearing rules of the forum .... and slate other comments ... if your so put of by other responses try been constructive and ignore them and give the OP the answers to his question!

Had you comment not fallen into the pre-empt banned words list you be looking at a ban yourself!

Its a forum for electricians not DIYers, thats why its called an electrician forum.

This forum is actually for electricians to exchange info and ideas. I gather you aren't an electrician judging by the very basic questions you're asking?

My yorkshire fellow try remember this is a forum for all public from DIY to professionals its not just for electricians etc and agree the OP is clearly out of his depth asking such a basic question when he intends to do the electrics, but there are more humane ways to skin a cat if you get my drift!

to the O/P....
its change of use so an ECR would be on the cards here....
there may be other nastys lurking unseen...
get him to go for an ECR...any non-conformances, 1s n 2s etc will/should be picked up....and dealt with at the clients request....

No its not its open to all... from the curious to the fully fledged, its a forum for electrical advice don't misinterpret the internet address as the rules of admittance it holds that title because there are many qualified and knowledgeable members who can help with any electrical query, the forum title also ensures it is in the top 5 search results for anyone looking for help ...... i walked into the local ex-service mens club last week but i never served a day in my life but still got a welcoming service, i am kinda glad you wasn't working behind the bar then.
