Does such a course exist?? I have done domestic work but now want to get commercial training via a provider to give me the basics as when applying for jobs i feel this lack of training is letting me down.
I live nr colchester essex can any one advise

Not being in your area i cant comment. But up here there are some training providers that do run courses on Motors, Control engineering and such like, so my guess is there will be some in your part of the world. You may need to bash the phone and ring around.

Have you told potential employers that you want to get involved in commercial work, some companies will recruit the right person on potential, and not always experience. I would be more likely tell them i have some but not a lot of commercial experience, and in my opinion commercial and industrial is a lot easier than domestic anyway.
If you want to bend the truth, then at least find out how to gland SWA cable.

in a word , no.
you cant really "train" for commercial work in a classroom , learning is soley by onsite practical skills developement as electrical theory is the same for domestic / comm / ind.
