Apologies if this is a repeat post.

I am looking for some advice from anyone who has completed or knows anything about the compex course parts ex01 to ex04.

I have been "offered" a job on the basis I complete my BOSIET and Compex.

I have a small amount of experience in Industrial work and even less experience in making off glands. Although I am confident i can make a gland off, I do realise hands on experience helps alot.

I have heard mixed reviews on the compex course, "you wont fail as they make sure people pass" and "its really difficult, they are really strict".

Any advice or opinions on the course would be much appreciated.

Thanks

I done the Compex last year and the theory was hard going along with the 60 question test, the practical was fine, not too hard.If I passed so can most sparks. If you have got a chance to do go offshore grab it, I know alot of guys that can't get there first trip. For the Compex use google to find out where the centres are and avoid the ones in Scotland as they are very strict, the Middlesbrough and Hull ones have a good pass rate. The practical is easy enough they do show you the glands and they are not any harder than a normal armour gland as you are not doing big cables. It is alot of money but if you get offshore it is worth it.I have had three jobs in the past six months because I had the Compex
