Discuss Con-lok , anyone used it ? in the UK Electrical Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

I have heard they don't offer a very reliable connection: mechanically, electrically, or sealing.

I can see the attraction of being able to slip it in without needing the space to screw it, but usually if using conduit you are looking at high integrity industrial/commercial style installations where the long-term quality is important.
 
these grub screw boxes certainly do have their uses , like if you have to add a box in the middle of a long run. i don't think they will replace threading but I will certainly use them in the future
 
US conduit installation coming to UK. This saves time and great for alterations on old existing conduit installs. Besides like covid vaccine, all circuits will be protected by RCD's or RCBO'S
But that is the point that bothers me: conduit is often assumed to be a viable CPC in itself, and when screwed joints are used pretty much it is the case.

I guess the USA approach is either more cavalier with CPC parameters, or it is primarily driven by fire containment than electrical reasons.
