Hi Guys,

Conversation in the canteen yesterday, what conduit draw cord do you use and why? Some of the answers (I am not responsible for these!)

1. Round nylon draw cord
2. Girlfriends knicker elastic (apparently stops the cables falling back!!):D
3. Wifes knicker elastic (only time he can get them off!):)
4. 'Old style' metal draw tape
5. Leave a draw tape in when fitting the conduit

There were others, but not really suitable for the forum!!

So, what do YOU use?

Steve.

Option 1 for me.

My Mrs is a size 8 so dont think there'd be enough elastic in ALL her under garments to get very far!!!!!

nylon with a tail of insulating tape on the nose, women's knickers in the tool box is asking for trouble:p

im bored so why not revive an old thread!!!!
i use a fish tape (nylon pull cord), but if im leaving drops in conduit for others, for example from trunking, then ill leave a bit of 1.5 singles as a draw.

Steel draw tape that is encased through a piece of 20mm kopex, that baby gets through anywhere

that option might require me to do some calculations with regard to the conduit size, although im not sure what cable size to equate the elastic to. do i use relaxed or stretched diameter?

I could use the mrs's knicker elastic, but where the hell would you find the need to pull in half a mile of cable in conduit????? :shocked3:

during WWII, due to shortages, women used to make knickers out of old parachutes. nowadays they make parachtes out of their old knickers.
