Hi all, wondering if anyone can give me some advice. I'm renovating my house at the moment and would like to make provision for solar PV on the roof in the future by installing suitable conduit in an internal wall between the meter cupboard and loft so that it doesn't have to be ripped apart later. What sort of conduit do I need to protect the cable, bearing in mind this is a stud wall less than 100 mm thick so the cable will be less than 50 mm from the surface?

Thanks,
Ed

I would put in rigid conduit myself but its probably a little overkill
it would provide the maximum protection for the cores you run in it.
but whatever you use must be in compliance with your countries codes

Why? Unless there is a specific requirement for PV to have an RCD then the only reason would be for burial less than 50mm.

And unless it can be run in a zone then just RCD protection alone is not allowed.

put in 25mm (1") steel conduit down, if the installer isnt happy with what you put in if you drag say a 6mm in they will put conduit on the outside of the house
