Confused..

Might just be getting myself lost and confused but wanna know...

If I've got 2 seperate rooms with 2 lights in each and I use the same supply to feed the 2 rooms (from DB to light 1 then light 2 in the first room, then from light 2 to light 3 and light 4 in the second room), and I want a switch in each room, do I just pull a switch wire in to either light in each room? I'm thinking that if I do that and with all 4 lights using the same supply, both switches will switch all the lights.

Looks confusing there but I'm sure you'll get what I mean? Will someone clear this up for me please? Thanks!

you loop from light to light as you say, switch wire 1 to light 1 , switch wire 2 to light 3. then from light 1 take a switched L and N to light 2. from light 3 take a switched L and N to light 4.

So between 2 lights in 1 room, what cable would be used? I've seriously had a massive memory loss. It's been annoying me all day :/ haha

T/E same as the rest. it's just that the 2nd light in each room takes it's L feed from the switched L of the 1st light.

just thought though... so if the t+e from the first to second light consists of a switched live and neutral, how do you take a permanent live through to your 3rd light from the 2nd light?

You can either use 3c+e between lamps 1 & 2

or an additional piece of 2c+e and by-pass lamp 2 with supply cable
