Hi,

Just a quick question, I have only ever joined tails to SWA with a switched fuse. I need to join the tails to SWA without a switched fuse, as it is only a short distance & space is limited. Any suggestions

Cheers

Don't join the tails, just connect the SWA directly to the meter, use a bit of brass angle plate to hold the gland and double layer heat shrink over the cores to sheath them. You can also fill the gland with epoxy to seal the end if you feel it's necessary.

This should give you some idea what I mean

Cheers Dave, i have never seen that brass angle plate. Is that available from electrical wholesalers

I get bits like that from eBay where you find various metalwork places selling offcuts of various metal stock.

That came out of a box of random offcuts I got for around ÂŁ10, so far it's probably done me for brass gland plates and similar things for a dozen jobs.

I tap threads in to the holes for the gland to ensure a good connection and add a locknut for good measure

dave, i love that to bits but....... The swa is bending over backwards and the iso switch says "no"!!!!!!!
kmf is upside down because they're designed to have the incomer at the bottom

Where did you get the warning label?

Nice set up btw

You can get them made up (they are made from 2 layers of plastic sheet sandwiched together) Murdoch - see ebay for cheap prices. Daz
