I have a job Iam doing on thursday changing an old fuse board. Problem is client dosnt want me to re-wire shower ( it has seperate breaker out width board).

So i ask, whats best way to join cable to continue it into the new board? Or do i just leave it in the RCD and have it on two RCDs??

Any advice welcomed with open arms!

Ideally see if you can find some on the shower cable. If not use the the rcd enclosure with some terminals on the din rail and fit a new cover or make a neat lid to cover the hole.

Would fitting a JB were the RCD is now be ok to do? Or even an unswitched spur? Sorry if sounds daft, just don't know the best method here.

JB will look pants if you are thinking of the round screw terminal types. small adaptable box, top lined up with new CU, and insulated through crimps is an alternative. couple to CU with a 20mm galv coupler and 2 brass bushes.

Screwfix link wont work , but you can pick up adaptable boxes from their web site for about 7 quid pal

If the shower is on its own RCD CU then wht not leave it if they don't want you to touch it.

Is the shower CU fed via henleys or from the fuse board at the moment?

Its currently in with the supply at the board then makes its way to the RCD before going up to the DP switch then the shower.
