Hi all
Went to a bungalow today to install a bathroom light to find the CU had been installed in the corner of the attic.

The owner is a lady in her mid 50s. She has to claim into the loft (loft ladder) and across the attic to the corner (no boarded) to access the CU if it trips.

Would you class this as inaccessible or not?

CU install date Feb 2013!

Thoughts please

Where was the DB before it was replaced?

In the hallway. It was an old well Weylex cu.

From the sound of it she didn't like the size of it (16 module for 5 circuits) so he said he would put it up attic just inside the attic door

When she checked after she paid the final amount spark said it had to go in the corner because the cables where to short.

The property would have been suitable for a smaller currently or a recessed cu to meet the customers needs.

My thoughts

Business opportunity,
Quote to re-site it in a location of her choice.

The customer has proved it IS accessible, to all but wheelchair users.

However it's not ideal.

More importantly is why is it tripping regularly.

There many as inaccessible fitted at high level in attached garages with no adjoining door ,with floor to ceiling rubbish, coupled with a door that will not open without the secret twist code.
