Consumer Unit Knockouts ( Garage) conduit incline

hi there

after some advice re fitting a metalclad cu for a garage rewire. the wiring will be in 20mm pvc conduit.
Now when the 20mm conduit is fitted to the knockouts(x2)it is just over 6mm away from the wall, they then run to 2 T boxes 250mm above, now i cant offset for just 6mm so i have run them both straight with a small incline. looks really neat and tidy. i only ask as this job is part of my assessment for elecsa so dont want any silly mistakes.

any thoughts would be very much appreciated.

cant think of anyway of offsetting for such a short distance, and knockouts preset. have i missed a trick ???

best way would be to pack out the t boxes with a few large washers or simular

.....and then set the outgoers into the tee's....

i thought of using packers/washers but then realised all the conduit boxes/switch boxes/socket boxes further down the line would also be 6mm off the wall too which im not too keen on. do you think the slight incline is wrong ??

Why can't you double set to 6mm?

double set 6mm on a 25cm length of conduit didnt think it would be possible, i dont have any pvc benders

would have to be done using my left knee, if it was possible would be best solution

bending spring and a hot air gun. if 6mm is too small a set, you could mount the CU on a piece of ply, 1/2" thick, then you'd have a 3/4" set.

You'd have to put the set in a longer length, and then chop it down to size.
Of course, without a spring, it won't happen.

Push a thin strip of 6mm ply behind the adaptors so they become verticle , heat up the conduit with the wifes hair dryer when plyable push another piece of wood up against the conduit and hold for a short while whilst the condut cools this may well give you the double set you need

Double set the conduit and cut to length
Warm up the conduit and press fit
Washers behind the terminal boxes
Fit ply behind the cons unit

Just about every sensible idea has been given and each one is a practical solution

Now, a not so sensible one, in case you cant make up your mind

Drill your own holes
