Well just when i think ive see it all , go to look at a job , shop in a car park porta cabin type , where the consumer unit i say , silly question realy it was staright in front of me mounted to the ceiling , yes flat on the ceiling what pillock would mount a CDU flat on a ceiling , the dust covers had been removed , well they would look silly as the would hang down , so a quick check of the supply ,TNCS oh yipee , its a steel fabricated building , and in no way should it be on a flippin TNCS system it should be TT , mm how the flip am i going to sort this out its on a tarmaced car park arghhhhh , oh and the silly thing is it was supplied by the council and wred by a council electrical company ,who realy need to read the regs !!!!

Its a steel constructed building and portable so is classed as mobile so if you read the reg section 717 in bs7671, regulation 717.411.4 states the following:
"In the UK a TNCS system shall not be used to supply a mobile or transportable unit except: A) where the installation is continuously under the supervision of a skilled or instructed person and B) the suitability and effectiveness of the means of earthing has been confirmed before the connection is made". now in my eye its a gray area so and a little old dear selling carrots i wouldnt class as skilled , i may be thinking to hard on this one but you know me always go down the worst case route

I was wondering if it's got a perm supply from either a final circuit or a distribution circuit it may not be classed as mobile. Quite a lot of factories have these port-a-cabin offices, espicially in large loading areas and bays and becasue they are on a permanent supply they are classed as semi-permanent I suppose for a better word.
