hi all just a quick one,
i have a customer with a 12way split load board- (1 rcd). now the house has the following circuits;

1 - upstairs lighting
2 - downstairs lighting
3 - radial suppling bedrooms x3 and lounge
4 - kitchen ring
5 - cooker
6 - utility lighting
7 - utility ring
8 - security lighting
9 - shower
10 - hall + landing radial

my question is what is the best way to load this c.u?

hi
thanx for the replys.
it is original board, customer doesnt want to pay for new c.u. i have istalled the new circuits to the utility which will need rcd protection. but was wondering if there was a better way of aranging the board to make things better.

What make board is it ,what you could do is fill the unprotected side with RCBO's , then all circuits are covered and comply with the regs , i take it its a 5 x 5 split so 5 RCBO's @ ÂŁ35.00 so ÂŁ175.00 plus labour and certification

the board is a crabtree, the rcbo's are quite expensive been quoted around ÂŁ26 eah. i quoted him a new board at ÂŁ295 and he said no to that. i may as well just protect the work i have done and leave the rest as it is i think, thanx for the replies.

Then just put all your stuff on RCBO's list that there should be RCD protection for the existing circuitry. Give them a quote for all RCBO's or a new board say that it's more cost affective for you to do it now, rather than at a later date see what they say. They may have to save for the RCBO board ;)

Depending on the location of the 2 CU's and the quality of materials I'd say ÂŁ10K-12K. If they're potential tyre kickers don't waste loads of time...
