consumer unit timer

Anybody got any advise on what would be the best way fitting a new consumer unit with a timer for storage heaters,
would appreciate hearing any pearls of wisdom.

Probably using a contactor controlled by a timer to control the consumer unit? Or i have seen timer type MCB's that can control the circuits in question?
Is the current installation eco7 or standard?

A simple time clock and a contactor should do the job.

How many storage heaters?

Consumer unit with mcb's for storage heaters, run these circuits through contactor(s) run the control circuit of the contactors through a time switch.

Timers normally can't carry the load of storage heaters.

It may be cheaper to get the tarrif changed to an eco 7 or even a off peak supply put in then you could connect the immersion to it as well

as oldtimer said, get in touch with your provider regarding changing tarrifs to eco 7 or 10. They will fit a timer for you to power a seperate board.
