Does the consumer units top knockouts need to have stuffing glands installed even if a 50x50 trunking will cover the holes? Or is it sufficient to use a grommet or grommet strip if a rectangular hole is cut?

The stuffing gland will maintain the IP rating but that will be maintained by the trunking cover whilst it’s on.

What do you guys do with the knockouts when trunking is running along the top, bottom and sides?

Don’t know how true it is, but apparently they know when the meters are being tampered with and if there hasn’t been any power cuts in the area, one of the fuse police races round to the property.
Oh 😕 I’m a bit paranoid to cut it even though I’ll reseal it. I don’t want to do it live otherwise the ambulance will turn up too
