When your connected a consumer unit (split RCD), how do you go about numbering the circuits.

Do you miss out the Main switch and count from one onwards?

Are the RCDs counted as a way?

I dont include the Main switch or RCd,s and number 1 to whatever from the main switch which ever side the switch is on.

My test result sheet would read

Main Switch
RCD 1
1,
2,
3,
4,
RCD2
5,
6,
etc etc.

Cheers.......Howard

I dont number mine i give them all names its much more personnal that way and you really feel you know the circuit your working with ;)

When I just started my apprenticeship we were doing an 8 bedroom house re-wire, lighting was to four RB4 jointboxes. On the plans for the house there were alsorts of diffferent rooms, orangary, breakfast kitchen, kitchens house bathroom 1 etc etc, load of rooms. while pulling the cables we were asking what room was what etc etc, my boss must have been hungry cos he went mad and said "just call them what you want" so we gave them all girls names!

He said it was the first time he'd ever done an RB4 that big where the whole lot worked first time without any random switching!:D

much more personal, mavis light, mavis switch.
