Contacted by 'Business Classified'!!!

Anybody been contacted by business classified?
got the call today, they got my number from Elecsa who im registered with, say that they can put work my way for........................................wait for it, £40 per month plus the VAT.

Any thoughts. I said call me bak after chrimbo so i could check them out!

Never heard of them.

Mind you, I've started telling most of these types that I'm going to find out who they are and invoice them for wasting my time and phone line. I get on average ten calls a day from these leaches.

Thing is, if I wanted their "service" - I'd call them.

How would they like it if we started calling all of them up fifty times a day asking if they wanted a PIR carried out, or routine testing for £40 a month?

nice one bill...........................was a bit taken back by the call to be honest..............in the middle of some testing, started getting the spiel........................cheers anyway!

One way out of getting these calls is to register your home number and mobile with the TPC - mind you it's worked well for me until today when I got 2 unsolicited calls from people selling advertising. They go very humble when you say they are registered with TPC.

As for getting your number from Elecsa - I doubt Elecsa gave it to them - I suspect the researcher has simply looked at Elecsa and got your details which are there for all and sundry to see.

What you should ask yourself is how do most people get hold of your details - and then you can decide if its worth while. I wouldn't spend nearly £500 + VAT so next year thats nearly £600 per year in this way!

I too have had a call from these people promising work from the first page of google, and took up their offer of a 3 month trial for £99, what i got was horrendous, a 2 page template site on page 10 of google, it was shocking, I forgot all about it until money was taken off my card 3 months later so I called them to cancel and was given the hard sell by someone called Tony. I hung up in the end and cancelled my card to stop them taking more money off me. I guess i should have known, to good to be true. I now stick to the old adage, if you pay peanuts you get monkeys, and if it seams too good to be true, then it probably is.
I have since found a company that have built me a nice site for a realistic price and i am only paying the cost of hosting the site

business classified is a scam, in my opinion - buyer beware
