Hi guys, I have got a pretty basic question to ask, but I just want some clarification please. When testing Cpc's (R1+R2 method) on a lighting circuit which line conductor are you supposed to probe in the ceiling rose? Is it the supply line, the switch line or the line out to the light bulb?

Hi Sparko, make sure it's the last light on the circuit, test from cpc to switchwire, and if it's a 2way,make sure you test from both positions, that's at the ceiling rose,no need to test at the actual pendant.

with the switch closed

Just to clarify guys are you saying I should test between cpc and switch wire at the ceiling rose, and if it is a two way or intermediate etc make sure I close each switch in turn and test again, then record highest reading? Or do I have to test between cpc and each live conductor in the ceiling rose?

Make sure all switches are closed, test from line to cpc on furthest pendant ( should give you highest reading ) then check two more to verify )
