Is the continuity test for circuit protective conductors, the same test for ring and radial circuits or is there a different test for each type of circuit?

Also what is the difference between testing for cpc continuity and testing for continuity for ring final circuit conductors?

Hi, do you have access to the trainee section.? You question is too broad to give an answer too, try and be more specific which test in particular do you require help with. But yes radial & ring testing are very diferent

I thought this was posted in the trainee section?

This is posted in the Electrical courses and NVQ section (just above the training section, for which access is required)

The two tests are different:
A radial circuit, with line and cpc linked, is tested for continuity at every point of use of the circuit and the maximum resistance (at the end of the circuit) is R1+R2.

A ring circuit has the end to end resistances measured to get r1 and r2 (and rn), then the ring is interconnected in a figure of 8 and the resistance between line and cpc measured at each point of use. Every measurement should equal (r1+r2) /4 and this is also R1+R2.

No, just impressed with some of the graphics people post on here and just wondered what software people were using to create them in the first place.

You would have thought they'd have a switch to flick on and off to engage an override. Not on each PIR but an actual light switch
