mayday

I have lights dimming on there own and the neutral and earth are showing signs of continuity. Could this be caused by loose connections on the board?

Are the neutral and earth showing continuity at the fitting, if the earthing is TN-C-S then it will do ( neutral and earth connected at cutout). switch off the main (double pole) switch and check again, if cleared you know the answer.
As for the dimming lights check all connections common to the effected lights. Good luck

I'm assuming the cable will have to be cleated well to hold it in place anyway, as a stuffing gland ain't going to hold it tight like a SWA gland...
