Hello folks,
I've been called to check a couple of ALTO AL3109 2kw Convector heaters with timer, which are not working properley.
They come on and start heating up and then cut out after about 3-4 mins and wont come back on again. They are both reasonably new.
I cant find the user manuals online anywhere.
Does anyone have any ideas as to what could be the problem?

Cheers in advance!

The heaters are listed as having frost protection and thermostatic control, could they have been left on the frost protection setting?

The heaters are about 3 years old, but still look spanking new to me. So there wont be any warranty. I didnt see any way of switching on or off the frost protection, it must be automatic.

The heaters are indoors so they would never be affected by the frost.

Oh well, it looks like they will just have to be getting new ones.

well dead easy to check.

Is there voltage to the supply side of the heater?

no - check cct

yes - Is there voltage at the load side of the stat when the stat is in the on position?

yes - is there voltage at the load side of the timer when it's on?

No to either of these questions = warrenty situation.
