how do you convert the airflow in CFM to HP? is that possible??
and also how to calculate the load on the motor (KVA) of a air curtain if all the information given was:

Product Type: Unheated Air Curtain
Energy Source: Electric
Voltage: 115 Volts 1 Phase 60 Hertz
Airflow: 795 CFM
Dimensions: 9.5"H x 36"W x 8.5"D
Weight: 24 Pounds

surely the rating of the motor will be on it's rating plate, either in amps or kw. but as itsounds like it's american, who knows?

if you mean the unheated 115 v the current is given so you can calculate the kw P=IV , 115 x 1.2= 138 watts, or 0.138kw

hmm...ok ok.....so there is no need to take into consideration root 3....because its a single phase system right...?...

correct. the only consideration is that the KVA will be higher than the KW, due to power factor, but not much.if you allow a pf of 0.8, so kva=kw/0.8 = 138/0.8=172.
