cooker circuit

Hi ive got a 30 amp cooker which is wired in 2.5mm cable on a 30 amp mcb, im having a new cooker fitted (same current rating) do you think the cable needs changing as the cable current capacity is less than the mcb rating. Its been like it for years and there is a socket on the circuit as well.Cable is installed reference method A

yes I would upgrade the circuit, although you will hear the usual diversity blah blah blah.....

I'd be upgrading the cable to a 6mm straight away.

Definitely replace the cable with 6mm, and if you have a socket on the CCU i would put an RCD on the circuit.
