Hi,

I am a newbie. I am connecting a new free standing cooker and testing the circuit for a customer.

There is a suitably rated DP isolating switch within 2m of the cooker but no cooker connection unit which is not a problem as one can be fitted. The only snag is that the cable from the switch can not be chased into the wall behind the cooker for various reasons. What is best practice for running the cable from the switch to the connection unit in this situation?

Many thanks.

Assuming the cooker switch is surface mounted, and there's a service gap behind adjacent units ....... then trunking from switch to below worktop, then clipped-direct to wall over to the rear of the cooker. If you can't get access to clip it then it'll have to dangle.

If the cooker switch is flush, then bring it out with a ghost-plate so that the trunking meets up to it nicely.
