Just been to see a nice young lady who currently has a 6kw hob supplied via 6mm cable on 32 amp rcbo.
Her existing cooker is 2.5kw and is plugged into a standard 13 amp socket and wants to upgrade her oven to a 3.5kw oven. Could I wire the oven off the hob utilising the 32amp breaker taking into account diversity or is this bad practice?? Sorry if its a stupid question, im still learning!!

9.5kw total - 41A, after diversity = 22.3A (+5A if there is a cooker con unit with a socket on it) = 27.3A

6mm clipped direct will cope with 47A (as long as its not passing through fluffy :) 32A rcbo will look after the cable.

Use a cooker connection unit to have a point of isolation and 'your cooking with gas' as they say.... isolation point can control both as long as it is not more than 2 mtrs away.

If you have a copy of the 'electricians guide to the building regs' ( bit like the on site guide but green), P.55 & 56'

Nice bit of calculation going on here, but not really needed to be honest!! 32A MCB/RCBO sitting on 6mm has been proven good for upto 15KW of cooking load for around 50 years now!!!

Why anyone would want to bring 2 separate supplies in for these two cooking appliances is beyond me.
