cooker grill element has stopped working, now how would you guys go about this in the safest manner.

would it be check the voltage is still going to element, then isolate then check resistance of element?? i=p/u

Yes test for power to the element.

If you have power the isolate the supply and test the elements resistance.

Normally it's fairly obvious in terms of readings.

what i meant is do i have to disconnect to check element resistance , no tel i wont use my tounge on this hunni

obviously, you need to pull the connectors off the element to measure it's resistance ( parallel paths an' all ). then , if it reads OK, test for volts at the element.

these are normally attacked by the front, in grill compartment. wee screws?

usually from the rear. look at the element, see where its fixed to the casing.
