cooker, hob and fixed kitchen appliances

Hi All

Can someone advise me on the best way to connect a cooker, hob or aplliances installed into kitchen units or housings. Is butchering the back of the cupboard the only way to gain access to socket or cooker connection units to supply these items, or is it ok to fix sockets and ccu's internally on the kitchen carcass.

I usually put them in adjacent cupboards high up as poss so they don't get hidden by the baked bean tins

You want to try and put them on the building fabric wherever you can. That said, on sturdy kitchen units it is generally accepted.

What did you have in mind?

There aren't backs on oven units so if the hob is above the oven...

Cookers don't go in units.

Nor do washing machines or fridges.
