Newbie here, hope you're all well..

Part re-wire on a kitchen. Exisiting 6mm previously chopped off by builder. Real pain to run new cable from board, so im joining on a new bit and running to new isolator and so on.. Thing is customer wants a 6.6kw hob requiring a 30A supply. Can i spur off for the hob from the cooker circuit? Im a young part qualified chap and attempting to complete this job without too many questions to the guvnor ;)

Cheers in advance..

If you have a 6mm T&E to work with then chances are with factors applied it'll be a max 32A circuit.

You already have a 6600W circuit which equates to about 28A. What is the additional rating of the oven??

Ideally a new circuit would be best as it allows for any situation that could arise.

However diversity could come into play but, ideally you need exact ratings of appliances to come up with an 'accurate' figure.

Rating is yet to be confirmed as per manufacturer?? So i guess ill just bite the bullet and attempt to run a new circuit. 32A gives me 7kw or there abouts so im sure that will cover it.. Thanks alot chaps.

separate circuit for hob is best way to go. future proof if equipment is upgraded to higher wattage.as Lenny has so clearly stated.
