Cooker Hood Extractor Fan

I have been asked to have a quick look at a kitchen extrator fan for a friend of mine as she currently has a xepelair air fan in her kitchen fed direct from the lighting circuit, however she has just bought a new stainless steel cooker hood(with fan and was planning to run this from the old fan wiring.

Is this ok??? my initial thoughts are that this should be ok to run from the lighting circuit but via a fused swith??

Call an electrician to install new fused spur , dont take it off of lighting

personally id break into the kitchen ring put a high level skt in fedoff a s/f/s at worktop height.
on the subjuect of xpelairs - does everybody put a s/f/s inline with their xpelairs? manufacturers state this in the fitting instructions.
