On an install where you do not know what cooker/appliances may be used (i.e gas appliances and electric in place for future use) What circuits do you usually put in, to allow for future changes/upgrades of the oven/cooker. Assume a 600m built under oven.

My thinking is a separate 20a radial socket for the oven (oven 2kw) as most ovens (including double) on 13a plugs now, and another separate 32a supply outlet plate for a hob,

Or alternativly can both exist on a 32a supply and use a dual appliance outlet.

Any other suggestions?

A 6mm cooker supply protected with a 32A protective device is good for cooker loads upto 15KW!!

Installing a 20A radial supply just for an oven, based on that the hob will/maybe be gas, is just plain daft, if not irresponsible!!

well we are doing one at moment in evenings and there will be 2x 3kw ovens on same 6mm cable justliked fromswitch 1 too switch 2 and then a separate outlet for each..... so yes one 6mm could probably supply both

Is there not reg that fixed heating loads over 2kW should be on their own circuit? Does a cooker come under this?

Seems to be practice to run 1x 6mm cable, and then feed the hob and oven from a single circuit which is sufficient for most situations. As ovens now tend to run off a 13a socket, I assume a dual connection plate should be used, with one outlet to the hob, and another to a FCU hat can be fused for the 13a oven flex.
