Got a 6 mm cable with standard cooker switch and cooker outlet. New oven is on a plug. Can I fit a socket wired into the cooker outlet? There would presumably be a couple of inches of 2.5 protected by a 32A breaker. Cant see that this would be much different to a spur off a ring main ?

like lenny has said is there a hob connected if so then you need to look at the loading of the oven if its more than 3kw then it need a seperate supply , if its a small low wattage oven then it can be connected with the hod ,if you have a hob and oven you should not add a twin socket outlet for a dish washer too as this will overload the circuits and possibly cause a fire

If you are only connecting a socket to the existing 6mm radial, for peace of mind you could always swap the 32A MCB for a 20A one.

The CCU would still act as your above worktop isolation aswell.
