Hi guys, I went to give a quote for a kitchen job last night. While I was having a look I noticed that the cooker circuit had no cooker switch and we couldn't find one anywhere. Now the C/U was changed in dec to a dual RCD board by a local well known company:(.

I'm I right in say that they should of installed one as their responsible for that circuit:rolleyes:

IMO you are only responsible for the work that you actually do so if all the customer wanted was a CU change then thats it. Same as if you found the lighting circuit had no earth all you can do is advise class 2 lighting only and stick a label on the CU to that effect.

Mind you they should have noticed that themselves and quoted for it.

I think it was Lenny that did a post a while back on CU changes it may be worth having a look through that post.

Hope that helps

Chris
