hi,
do i need to run 6mm cable for cooker even if it has gas oven and hob and just need power for ignition switch? customer do not want this to save cost . thanks in advance.......

Most of the cookers that only run timing and ignition simply plug into a 13A socket, So unless they want the fall back of a full electric cooker, a spur or a socket oulet on the ring should suffice.

You just need to run a 13Amp supply for the ignition and then if you want fuse it down to 3Amp but you may want to inform the customer that if he wants an Electric cooker in the future he will need to have a 6mm supply so thats entirely up to him. It would also depend if he's doing a bit of renovating just now and it's easier to run the cable in!

Cheers

Yes, I fear that may well be the case. With its weight and a current back problem, I don't think I'll be taking this on anytime soon!
