Hi, i replaced a dual grill element in a freinds cooker this weekend and all worked fine, then i got a call tonight saying that he used the grill or oven (cant remember which) and said the fan wont turn off it just continually keeps blowing cold air unless he turns it off at the ccu , both the oven and grill turn on and off fine , any ideas why fan keeps going even after half an hour, i think there is a stat right next to the element which is meant to turn the fan off when the air is cold does this sound right , thanks guy's.

Sometimes the fan on an oven will overrun until the oven temperature drops below a certain point regardless whether the oven is switched on or not. If you just replaced the fan and you didn't mess with any controls then chances are that's the way it's supposed to be.

thanks for replys guys have checked somethings out online, the fan is just running non stop he left it for over an hour so im guessing when the stat sensed it was hot it switched on the fan but then when it cooled the stat is just stuck and wont turn off, this matches with what you said marvo . its on an electrolux and apparently there is a reset button behind the control panel but dont see how that can reset a stat will have to see.
