I am looking at buying a new cordless Circular saw, mainly for lifting floorboards and am looking at the Panasonic Li-Ion 14.4v one which also does metal (which could be good for containment) however I am not sure if this would be powerful enough for wood.

My second option is to buy a Hilti 36v cordless one naked and I can use my batteries from the TE7. However this is nearly twice the weight but I am assuming far more powerful. Has anyone used a 14.4v saw for floorboards etc? Is the Hilti overkill?

Cheers

the panasonic will eat through any boards,,,,, IF you have a good blade. If they did a few more things i would have a full 18v kit as i rate Panasonics at the top of the list . The stock blade will be good, but you could get a great blade off ebay cheap and it will make a huge difference to how easy it cuts through.

i agree mate panasonic
they're doing a lot more in the range now
its just not many people stock all the range
i've got 14.4v drill/driver x2 impact driver , sds , work light , grinder , jigsaw , circular saw
i would n't change to anything else

I see they seem to prefer 14v rather than 18V ? but having said that i trust their 14v more than some makes !!

must admit i would love a whole kit !
